There are a couple of Whole Foods fallacies floating around among shoppers. Some people think that if you shop at Whole Foods, then you must be healthy. The corollary to that fallacy is that everything that Whole Foods sells is healthy. I offer two words to get the facts straight in regards to that idea: tortilla chips. You can buy organic tortilla chips or non-organic. While the organic chips may be pesticide and GMO-free, they still aren’t “good for you.” They are just slightly less bad for you. 😉 Feel free to add sugar, processed foods in cans and boxes and all kinds of bread and baked goods. That should settle any dispute regarding everything at Whole Foods being healthy. The other fallacy is that everything at Whole Foods is more expensive than you would find it elsewhere. If you shop organic or non-GMO foods, this is simply not true at all. There are specific items that I buy at Whole Foods specifically because I get them at better prices at Whole Foods. Check out this week’s list of deals on organic foods.
