My husband’s birthday is coming up this weekend. And, my 3 1/2 year old daughter has been SO excited about getting ready for daddy’s birthday. Since she’s now at the age of being able to help and really wanting to get involved, we decided to make our own party hats!
Since the “party” guest list corresponds with the number of people in our household (four!), I decided that I wanted to make cute hats but didn’t want to buy anything to make them. When my husband and my daughter talked about the different color hats each one of us should wear, I knew we had construction paper I could pull out to make it happen.
So, I did some research online and found some very cute DIY party hats we could have made if I had bought a few other items. In any case, here’s what I used:
I cut the construction paper in a cone shape, pictured here:
I decided to cut out some triangles, squares and little squiggly lines to help decorate each person’s name on the hat.
Then, I decorated with what we had. It’s very simple. But, with an 18 month old and a 3 1/2 year old, it’s perfect 🙂
Mommy’s was the test hat. My daughter will do the art work on the rest of them 🙂
What DIY projects have you done with your toddlers?
