Thrifty Tip: Cleaning With Essential Oils
I have always hated cleaning with the over the counter products most people use. I tended to get sick almost immediately after a day of lots of cleaning. The chemicals seemed to go right to my throat while I was cleaning. I started using non-toxic, homemade cleaners and feel so much better about the products I use to clean the house. I also feel better about my children being around essential oils in the air than the chemicals in the other products.
Here are just a few recipes you can use around the house.
Fill a bottle with water and a small squirt of dishwashing soap. Add 3-5 drops of lavender, lemon and pine essential oils. Shake well.
Add 1/4 cup white vinegar to a bucket of water. Add 5-10 drops of lemon, pine, spruce, melaleuca, lavender or tea tree essential oil.
