Saving Money On Your Stocking Stuffers
Christmas stockings are a must in our home and I suspect they are in most of yours too. Well those little jewels can really start to add up and become very expensive. Here are some tips to save money this Christmas on those must have stockings.
1. Keep it Simple
Remember that stocking does not need to be filled with expensive items. Originally stockings were old socks hung for Saint Nick to fill with small toys, candy, fruit, coins, or other small gifts when he arrives. None of those are expensive right? Keep to the original meaning and go less expensive.

2. Dollar Deals
Hit the dollar section at your store. Target has a GREAT dollar section. They have toys, candy, decorations, and even some stockings. I love the dollar section at Target for little gifts. You can save a lot of money buying dollar items for your stocking. Even check out your local dollar store. I found some great coal shaped chocolates perfect for the person on your naughty list. ![]()

3. Invest in Fun
Add games like UNO and Playing Cards. These are super cheap and most kids/adults LOVE them. Plus, it gives you something to do after Christmas dinner that includes the whole family.

4. Start a Thrifty Tradition
Every year since I was a child, my mom always put a box of Christmas lifesavers. Now, even as an adult, she makes sure my brother and I have them. It’s a cheap gift, but it’s very special to us both. On Christmas morning, we better have some lifesavers even though neither of us eat them!

5. SocksĀ In Your Stocking
They are cheap and everyone needs socks. Plus they make your stocking look really stuffed.
