What freebies will you be “buying” this week? 
A new month means new sales! May is fun because there are several holidays/celebrations: Cinco de Mayo, Mother’s Day and Memorial Day. Here are some of the items you can expect to be on sale this month.
Cinco de Mayo means you’ll see lots of Mexican food items on sale this week: salsa, shredded cheese, tortillas, tortilla chips, canned and refried beans, shredded lettuce as well as frozen Mexican entrees and snacks (taquitos, mini tacos, chimichangas). You will also see piñatas & piñata fillers on sale for all your Cinco de Mayo parties.
For Mother’s Day, you can expect deals on gifts for mom: bouquets, gift sets, perfume, chocolate, photo frames and crafts, jewelry, candles.
Memorial Day sales include lots of fun items: BBQ sauce, ketchup, condiments, charcoal, salad dressing, potato chips, dips, paper plates, plastic utensils, sandwich fixings. Expect camping-type foods to go on sale. Things like hot dogs, buns, marshmallows, soda and chips. We should also see things like bug repellent and sunscreen start to go on sale.
Summer officially begins after Memorial Day. So, look for summer-related items on sale too. We should be able to get deals on insect repellant, sunscreen, outdoor furniture, shorts, sun hats, beach toys, bird feeders, lawn mowers, barbecues and grilling utensils by the end of the month.
Gardening. We should see plants, flowers, seeds, watering cans, plant food, soil, weed killers, mulch, compost buckets, water hoses discounted this month.
Seasonal Produce. This is always one of my favorites: sales on produce! Here are the fruits and vegetables we should see on sale this month: artichokes, asparagus, avocado, beets, blackberries, carrots, corn, green beans, onions, peas in the pod, potatoes, raspberries, strawberries.
