At Home Date Night Ideas

Posted on September 20th, 2013 by Freebie Felicia

My husband and I feel that it is very important in our relationship to spend time together as a couple, but our budget doesn’t always agree. So how do we cultivate our relationship without breaking the bank? What we do is get a babysitter that is okay with watching the little one at their home. Grandparents or aunts and uncles are a great choice for this. Then we go home and do whatever we want together.

Movie Night

We order take out and watch a movie with the lights off. The best part is, it doesn’t have to be a Disney movie we have seen six time already. It saves gas, money and we have all the privacy we need in a date night.

Board Games

We are talking about more mature  board games. Let me just say that it is possible to make any game into a more mature version. We make our own rules and get creative. We may never look at Monopoly the same again. At the very least we always end up laughing together.  Best of all it takes the competitiveness out of the game, for the most part.

Back Yard  Camping Trip

If our babysitter is willing to take the kids for the whole night we camp out in the back yard. We make smores, tell ghost stories and snuggle in the sleeping bags. Even if  we don’t plan on spending the whole night in the back yard it seems like a pretty good place to start.

Garage Shenanigans

The garage is usually my husbands private sanctuary, but every now and then on a date night he will let me join him. Why is that? Because that’s where the car is. Teenage fun can commence without  fear of prying eyes. Best of all, I know he’ll call me in the morning.
