Have you heard of Bountiful Baskets? If you haven’t, I am about to rock your world with fresh produce for cheap!
Bountiful Baskets is a food co-op that in short, skips the middle man of the grocery store and brings the savings straight to you. Weekly, bi weekly or even monthly you can pick up a basket full of fresh produce for a fraction of what you would pay for in the store.
The Way It Works…
You sign up for the Bountiful Basket service HERE. They are only available in certain cities and starting one isn’t hard, but you’ll need to see if there is a location close to you. Once you register, you’ll be able to see when the next time you can pick up a basket of produce will be. Then usually on Mondays you will go and make your contribution for your basket. Basically it means you are ordering your basket to pick up the next Saturday or whatever date your particular city has reserved. The price is awesome too! For the basic basket it’s $15 or $25 for organic. Then they have tons of add-ons if you are interested. This week my BBFC had a gallon of olive oil for $23! But if you choose to not do the add-ons or organic, you can get a basket full of produce for only $15! (there are some first time user fees, but it’s not much)
You don’t pick out the vegetables you get and they change every week, but out of all my friends who’ve been doing it, they’ve never been disappointed.
If you don’t see your city listed, think about starting one with these instructions.
