I don’t know if you’ve heard of a Soda Stream, but we’ve had one for more than a year now and it really has saved us money. My husband is a self professed cola addict. He drinks way more than he should and I bet our soda budget was more than the average family and so when we found the Soda Stream we were all about trying it to see if we saved money. And sure enough, is does!
What is a Soda Stream?
It’s a soda maker! It comes with a CO2 carbonator, flavoring and it uses your own tap water to make soda.
How does it work?
You fill up your nifty BPA free bottle with your tap water, carbonate it with your Soda Stream and then pour your flavoring in.
What flavors do they have?
This is the fun part. Soda Stream has more than 25 flavors available and just the other day I saw another company making off brand versions making it even cheaper. Soda Stream has even come out with an all natural syrup. My personal favorite is the orange soda and I think it even tastes better than the store bought version. I’ll be honest though, I don’t think the cola version tastes as good, but it’s a great substitution.
It is worth all the trouble?
Absolutely! It’s VERY easy to make your own soda so it’s really no trouble at all!
Will I really save money?
Yes! After you get past the initial cost of the Soda Stream which will cost anywhere from $79-$150, you’ll just have to buy the syrups. We always buy ours from Bed Bath and Beyond for $4.99. Each bottle of syrups makes around 12 liters. It make’s each liter only $.41! You can get the syrups even cheaper by buying them in sets of 5. It’s true you have to eventually refill the CO2 bottles, but you can exchange them and get a credit. Ours lasted us an entire year too!
Do you love your Soda Stream? If you haven’t gotten one yet, I highly recommend getting one HERE.
