Though carving pumpkins has long been a tradition at my house, I am always willing to mix it up a bit. Perhaps instead of carving all of the pumpkins we pick out, we’ll just carve one and try our hand at decorating a the others with a fun no-carve technique. I do need to have at least one get carved so that I can roast the seeds (YUM), but I’m alright with minimizing the mess a bit by not carving them all.
I looked around the good ‘ole internet and found 5 really great no-carve ideas for decorating your pumpkins this year!
I can’t wait to try this one! Simply change out the size of the drill bit for varying sized holes and make some fun designs.
All you need for this idea is some paint and tacks! Super easy, and they look really cool. I especially like how the stump is painted to match the gold in the tacks.
This is my most favorite idea out of them all. How brilliant is this crackled pumpkin idea? I want to buy a fake pumpkin so that I can make this and have it last long enough to be used for decoration for years. Just click on the link to find the super easy instructions for “crackling” your pumpkin. (I also really like how she used thumbtacks along the ridges of the other pumpkin.)
How adorable is this idea? The things people come up with just astound me. Why have I never thought to use puffy paint on a pumpkin?
This last idea is a great way to get your youngest kids involved without simply having them pick out a design that you’ll spend hours carving. This way you’ve got nothing to carve, and they will feel like they created a masterpiece!
Which idea did you like best? Are you going to stick with the traditional carving, or will you try out a no-carve decorating technique this year?
