Have you ever ran out of salad dressing? It’s okay, it happens to the best of us.
I can’t stand it though. It’s like when you get all excited to bake cookies and realize you don’t have any flour, or you’re dreaming of spaghetti and find you don’t have any marinara sauce. I’m not necessarily dreaming of salads, but I do find myself getting excited about dumping my favorite strawberry dressing all over my spinach, and I have to tell you, it’s not fun when I realize that all I’ve got is a bunch of spinach and no strawberry dressing.
Then I realized I could make my own!
I’ve always been so used to buying my salad dressings at the store that it never really occurred to me that I could make my own! Salad dressing just didn’t seem like something that could be made by any average Joe like myself. Boy, was I wrong! Making salad dressing is SO easy. My favorite dressing is Strawberry Balsamic Vinaigrette, and I have the perfect recipe to share with you for making this heavenly stuff. I only put it on spinach for show (so that I don’t look nuts) though I’d be perfectly happy drinking this stuff straight!
Strawberry Balsamic Vinaigrette
Add the following ingredients to a blender:
- 1 cup strawberries
- 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 3 tsp honey (add more if you’d like it sweeter)
Blend on low for about 30 seconds – until everything is well combined.
Done. Seriously, it’s that easy! I’m sure you have all of the ingredients right now, so go ahead and try it. It will make spinach-eating a much more pleasant experience.
