In my family we have a rather annoying holiday tradition of being sick. We don’t know why it is. We just know that that when we have time off we are ill. We have also found that we spend less money on sickness when we have wellness items on hand. It reduces the panic factor of being sick, making the newest cold medicine less of a necessity and more of a passing thought.
We keep Pedialite or a generic in stock, and we make sure it’s flavored (because I’ve tasted the unflavored and I wouldn’t want it either). We keep track of the thermometer just in case. We also use moisturized tissues or we end up with sore unhappy noses. We keep a bottle of Little Tummies on hand just in case of stomachache.
For Eating Too Much
For the mistake of Christmas over indulgence we keep a bottle of antacid in our bathroom cabinet. For problems more of a digestive nature we also keep fiber supplements and Pepto Bismal.
Just On Hand
For basic symptoms we keep on hand both children and adult Tylenol. We also have ice pops stocked up in the freezer to make forcing the fluids more appealing, or just to help with a sore throat.
What do you keep on hand to be prepared for cold and flu season?
