They just announced their “Christmas Price Guarantee” program.
From November 1st to December 25th, if you buy a Christmas gift at Walmart but later find it advertised elsewhere for a lower price, they will refund the difference on a Walmart gift card to you. So rather than fretting about whether or not you got something at the best price, you can rest assured that if you do see it advertised elsewhere for less you can simply price match it and still get the great deal. All you will need to do is show the receipt from your Walmart purchase and a phyical copy of the ad where you saw the same item advertised at a lower price.
The Fine Print
However, Black Friday ads will be excluded from the Christmas Price Guarantee. Furthermore, internet ads/pricing will be excluded. Short-term sale prices (such as a 6 hour sale) will be excluded. Percentages off or offers where you receive a gift card will be excluded. Typographical errors in store ads will not be honored. Clearance prices are also excluded.
Furthermore, the Christmas Price Guarantee does not apply to grocery items, non-branded items (such as live plants), tobacco, firearms, gasoline, tires, prescription drugs, optical, or wireless products that require a service agreement.
Even with a lot of exclusions, this seems like an offer to keep in mind while holiday shopping. Personally, I hate finding a better deal later and feeling that buyer’s remorse over not getting the discount I could’ve had. So a price match guarantee could provide a Thrifty Diva peace of mind.
What do you think of Walmart’s “Christmas Price Guarantee?”
