Fix Your Scratched DVD With a Banana
I am about to rock your world with this Thrifty Diva Tip. Or at least my world is seriously rocked! We are just hard on DVDs. We travel a lot and have a DVD player in the car so it never fails we just scratch DVDs up all the time. Honestly I bet we have them for a month and then they just skip constantly. I definitely don’t want to spend money to buy new ones which is why I am so excited about this. You can totally fix your DVDs (well most) by using a banana. Yes, I said a banana.
All you need is a banana, clean rag, glass cleaner and a paper towel.
Then peel your banana, but don’t throw away the peel. Cut your banana and in a circular motion, rub the banana on the DVD. Make sure it’s coated very well. Then with the waxed part of your banana rub in a circular motion. I found that the banana kind of dried out. Then wipe with a rag again in a circular motion. With your glass cleaner clear all the banana off.
Check out my before and after. There are definitely still scratches, but it plays now!

Can you believe I did that with a banana! The wax in the banana smooths the surface making it usable again. I am sure it won’t work on all DVDs, but hey it fixed this one!
spread the word!

You should do a video of it so we can see how it works. I think I get what your instructions are saying but not 100% sure.
Maybe I will youtube it in the mean time cause I have sooo many scratched cd’s it’s shameful.

I get what you are doing and I’m wondering if using a little bit of wax paper would have the same effect. Pretty neat trick though.

I’m too curious about what you mean regarding the wax part?
