Have you heard of this? It’s a GREAT way to get more of the coupons you want/need and not waste the ones you don’t need. The premise is to meet up with fellow Thrifty Divas and simply swap and trade coupons.
For example, maybe you don’t have kids, but you get tons of diaper and formula coupons, don’t throw them away, swap them with a friend for something they don’t need.
There are some people who are able to organize entire parties dedicated to coupon swapping. A simple way to do it is to make stacks of coupons you don’t want and categorize them. So if you don’t need baby items, put them into a pile together so that others can see what you have.
Also, make a list of items/coupons you would like to have. When you get together with friends, you can see give and get what you need and don’t need. Most rules of swapping simply say to trade equal amounts of coupons. If you take 10 coupons from someone, you should offer 10 coupons as well.
Coupon swapping is an awesome way to build up your stash of coupons while not wasting any of them. Remember every time you throw out a coupon, that’s just like throwing away money. A $2/1 Huggies Diaper coupon in the trash the same as $2!
Have you ever coupon swapped? Do you get together with your friends to swap out the savings?
