The kids are out of school, and Summer is now in full swing. With temperatures rising like they are, it is very important to keep everyone hydrated and cool. Heat exhaustion is very real and potentially very dangerous. As long as everyone is getting enough water and seeks the shade during the hottest hours, everyone will be totally fine.
In order to help with keeping everyone cool, I’ve come up with a few of my favorite frozen summer treats.
Frozen blueberries are my absolute favorite, but lots of others work great as well.
Try: Strawberries, bananas, pineapple, grapes and mango!
Dip the pieces into melted chocolate or some yogurt for added yumminess.
Homemade Ice Cream
Nothing beats the creaminess of ice cream, especially if it’s homemade! It’s much simpler to do than you may think, and you don’t need any fancy ice cream equipment. Try this recipe I posted a bit ago.
We used to make popsicles all the time when I was a kid, they were easy enough for us to make without needing a parent, and they kept us cool in the scorching heat.
You can buy popsicle molds super cheap, but don’t fret if you don’t have one and you’re craving a popsicle. Just use a plastic cup, pour in the juice to about 3/4 full, cover the top with some saran wrap, and stick a popsicle stick through (or a spoon works great as well!) freeze for a couple hours and you’re done!
For an great touch, add some fresh fruit and/or candies like gummy bears to the juice. They’ll be a fun surprise in the popsicle!
Stay cool out there, and have lots of fun this Summer! If you have any fun frozen treats you’d like to share, comment them below! 🙂
