Who’s up for a challenge? If you take on this challenge, you could win a FREE I love Thrifty Divas T-Shirt!
Have I got you interested? This challenge will take place on our Facebook page.
I absolutely LOVE Pinterest and DIY (do it yourself) recipes. I found this one a while back and now is the perfect time to try it! I love DIY recipes whether they be copy cat recipes or homemade detergent. It’s a great way to save money on what you’d normally spend a lot in the store for.
Today’s challenge is to try homemade teeth whitening! I don’t know if you’ve ever tried whitening kits or even had your teeth professionally whitened, but it can cost hundreds of dollars. It’s very hard for me to justify that kind of money on things like that, but man I would love a brighter smile. Best of all, the recipe I found only has two ingredients that I always have in the house and it’s super easy to make.
Here are the rules…
This challenge will start on Thursday (5/24).
On Thursday take a pictures of your teeth before. Do it in the best light possible and in a place you can do it again.
Follow the recipe below.
Then after you follow the directions to a “t”, take an after picture and then post your before and after on our Facebook wall.
Whoever has the biggest difference will win a free t-shirt. And of course, you’ll hopefully have brighter smile.
We will give you until next Tuesday (5/29) to try this and post it.
Here’s the recipe…
What you’ll need…
1 ripe strawberry
1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
I know you probably think a strawberry is crazy, but it contains malic acid which helps remove tooth discoloration. To make your “paste” just mash the strawberry up with the baking soda and place on your teeth with a toothbrush. Then let it sit on your teeth for 5 minutes. Then brush your teeth like normal with your regular toothpaste. *A tip for letting the paste sit, cover your teeth with a bit of plastic wrap while they sit. This will help keep it on better.
